AMGP CELEBRATED THE BIRTHDAY OF ITS PATRON LJUBE MILENKOVSKI
The Association of Geography Professors of Macedonia “LJUBE MILENKOVSKI, PHD” – Skopje, sponsored by the University of Tourism and Management in Skopje, once again united the geography professors, realizing another programme activity. Namely, yesterday and today field practice work was realized and more than 60 geographers attended, they are also members of AMGP "LJUBE MILENKOVSKI, PHD" - Skopje.

Departing from Skopje through Mavrovo, Debar and Vevcani to Ohrid with superb mix of geographical and historical facts transferred from the experience of Gjorgji Pavlovski, PhD, the professional approach and exclusive information given by Kole Pavlov, PhD and Sasho Kozuharov, PhD caused picturesque valleys of Radika and Drim to be experience in an extraordinary way by the team members. The extraordinary talent for poetic expression and humor of one of colleagues Stojan Arsic, contributed for the pleasant atmosphere on the first day of this field practice.

With the scent of flowers and fresh mountain air of Bistra, and overlooking the Mavrovo lake was a real pleasure to drink morning coffee with geographers. What caused special attention was a visit to the Monastery St. Gjorgi Pobedonosec (George the Victorious) in the village Rajcica where geographers had a rare opportunity to see the hand-made "Mitre" for the priests.

Moving through one of the most picturesque regions of Macedonia, the next destination and rest for the group was in Vevcani, where Vevcani Springs and distinctive structure of the houses in this municipality were another enjoyable experience that at every new visit reveals something new.

The first day of the trip was crowned with a night with geographers, for the first time the birthday of our patron Lube Milenkovski, PhD was celebrated; this day is also the day of the Association, which every year is celebrated on the same date.

The second day of field practice began with the training on "Revised Bloom's taxonomy" which was realized by Ivica Gievski, counselor for geography at BED of the Republic of Macedonia and Juliana Maksimovska, geography professor in elementary school. Then, began an open constructive discussion on the current situation in relation to geography, they gave useful suggestions and ideas for further action of the Association, which is in the interest of geographers and geography as a subject.

The travel continued with a lecture about the geographical landmarks of the National Park "Galicica" where before visiting the monastery complex St. Naum the group made a panoramic tour of the Museum "Bay of Bones".

Touristic tours around the monastery and springs "Ostrovo" (Island) amazed our colleagues and due to the professionalism of MSc Jovo Ratkovic who made a great blend of history and geography.

Once again we confirmed that the establishment of the AMGP "LJUBE MILENKOVSKI, PHD" - Skopje, is a real step in the affirmation of a profession that has long been on the margins of transitional processes of education in the country.

This trip was only a beginning and a successful introduction to new trips, seminars, fellowships or shortly presented a beginning of the consistent implementation of program objectives of AMGP "LJUBE MILENKOVSKI, PHD"- Skopje.
